VUWAFC Volunteer Roles
VUWAFC is seeking expressions of interest for the following volunteer roles:
a) Women’s First Team Assistant Coach
b) Women’s Reserve Team Assistant Coach
c) Women’s Squad Team Manager
d) GK Coach
Women’s First Team Assistant Coach: The Assistant Coach will work closely with the First Team Coach/Club Development Officer to help lead the Women’s First Team as they compete in the Women’s Central League in 2027. They will need to be available to help with coaching sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on the weekends (primarily on Saturday, sometimes on Sunday).
Women’s Reserve Team Assistant Coach: The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Reserve Team Coach and First Team Coaches to help lead the Women’s Reserve Team as they compete in the Women’s Premier League in 2027. They will need to be available to help with coaching sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Sundays for games.
Women’s Squad Team Manager: This role involves providing administrative and organisational support to the respective Coaches to enable them to focus more on coaching. The position is ideally suited to club members wanting to get involved in supporting the club outside of playing.
GK Coach: The club is looking for a GK coach to help with providing GK specific training to keepers at the club. The role can be across both men’s and women’s teams. The men’s teams train on Monday and Wednesday. The women’s teams train on Tuesday and Thursday.
For all roles, strong communication skills and organisational skills are essential, as is a positive attitude.
