About Us

Victoria University of Wellington Association Football Club (VUWAFC) is Wellington’s only central city football club. VUWAFC was founded in 1943 and now has 20 teams (4 Women’s and 16 Men’s) and more than 300 members which also makes us one of the region’s largest senior clubs. Our Women’s 1st team currently compete in the W-League and our Men’s 1st team compete in the Capital 1 league. We have teams throughout all grades to suit players of all age, gender and ability!

Clubrooms and Home Ground

VUWAFC’s clubrooms are at Kelburn Park, beneath Wellington’s iconic cable car and only a couple of minutes walk from Victoria University’s Kelburn Campus. The clubs main training facility and number one home ground is Boyd Wilson turf which is at Kelburn campus, however, many teams also play home matches at Kelburn Park, Nairnville Park (Khandallah) and Anderson Park (Botanical Gardens).

The club has a strong association with Victoria University. We play an important role in providing social and sporting opportunities for students, however, there is no requirement for club members to be current students or University Alumni.
